Advancing care for the gut‑brain axis.

The Indian Neurogastroenterology & Motility Association unites India’s clinicians and scientists to improve the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of disorders of gut-brain interaction and GI motility.

Our mission

Disorders of gut-brain interaction and GI motility account for nearly two-thirds of gastroenterology clinic workload. INMA exists so that every patient in India receives standardized, evidence-based care.

Registered in Lucknow in 2011 by Prof. Uday C Ghoshal, the association is based at the Department of Gastroenterology, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences.

We share knowledge with doctors and health workers, raise awareness among patients and policy makers, and conduct multicentre research across the country.
